Padmanadi is a popular all vegetarian restaurant located in downtown Edmonton.  Orginally their gluten free menu options were low.  However they have since worked on being more gluten free friendly for their customers with Celiac disease.

  1. Making their dishes gluten-free is a good option for customers with celiac disease. This makes their restaurant more accommodating.

  2. I went there when I was first diagnosed as it was one of my favorite resturants pre gluten free.
The cook refused to make anything GF for us. The server gave the reason as "the cook didnt want to" I havent been back since.

  3. I went to this restaurant for a friend's birthday and the waitress seemed very accomodating but told me that there was a risk of cross contamination (which there obviously is in most restaurants), which is usually fine for me. My friends carefully ordered dishes that I could enjoy as well and the food tasted fine (not great). About two hours later I felt extremely nauseous and dizzy and before I knew it I was miserably sick. This was definitely NOT caused my mere "cross contamination" in an open kitchen - I was "glutened". I will never go back to this restaurant. I have no faith in a restaurant that assures me I can eat their food and then I am most definitely sick from it afterwards.
