4. Yes, they think it is outrageous that they have to pay more for gluten free bread, and no they don't want to make their own gluten free bread, because do you bake your own bread every morning?

5. They aren't trying to be annoying at a restaurant, they just want to make sure they don't get sick while enjoying an evening with you

6. When they ask "can I bring anything?" when invited to your home home, it is most importantly because they are being polite.  It is an added bonus that this will ensure that they have something safe to eat without them imposing on you.
