  1. One would think that the simple items like Chocolate Covered Strawberries or the Coconut ice cream would also be Celiac friendly..

  2. Hi Dani,

I agree, ice cream is one of those things that you would think is Celiac friendly. Unfortunately some are not. We recently checked out a line of PC brand ice cream that was on sale, and every flavour had malted barly in them.

However, you will be happy to know Chapman's icecream in a box is labelled as gluten free. We hope to have an article on that sometime this month or next.

    Thanks for your comment.

  3. I have always appreciated the listings from Taste to have symbols for celiac friendly food. I hope they know it's valuable info.

I am not usually disappointed with the food (or wine) offerings either. This is the first year since moving here that I won't be attending (insert frowny face here) - taking a little Bike trip to BC. Please enjoy some for me!

  4. I went today. A couple of the vendors that said they had "celiac friendly" options online, had it crossed out on site. And I went to try the pork souvlaki and they were preparing it in the same area where they had cut bread... not to mention the fact that it was served WITH bread. I'd be scared to trust anything from there. Butter Chicken, Bacon Wrapped Scallops and Chili Lime Prawns were good though.

  5. Thanks for the note Kristy! It is a good idea to be cautious, especially when these servers are out of their regular working environment working with much less kitchen space than usual.

    Cheers,
